After his release in Vancouver, Rowland decided to lay low and take it easy. He was abruptly shaken during a fire alarm in his temporary nest but he enjoyed meeting the firefighters. He almost stayed on the truck, but the hose was a bit heavy. He certainly enjoyed the water from the hose so he left the fire hydrant and found a relaxing port. The beautiful marina caught his eye for a moment, and then noticed dome beautiful flowers. Rowland had never seen such vibrant flowers from his northern lands and the decision was made to embark on a journey to experience more beauty. He made a friend with a yellow rumped wobler who suggested Hawaii as a beautiful place to experience flowers beyond his wildest dreams. He took flight for Hawaii.
