Federal Duck Stamp Entry 2026: "Waning Crescent"
My entry this year did not do so well with the judges, though one of them told me afterwards that she loved it as a painting, just didn’t think it would work well at stamp size.
But in good news, prints should be available soon and you can order them now! I anticipate having them ready to start shipping out by early November. It will be a limited edition run of 50 signed/numbered prints for $65 which includes shipping to US destinations. If you are outside the US or are ordering multiple prints, contact me for a price quote to ship to your location.
(For those waiting for prints of last year’s entry, those are still coming – I just haven’t received it back from the national tour yet. I will try to get prints turned around as quickly as I can once I receive it back – hopefully still soon enough that they could be christmas gifts, but that remains to be seen)
Federal Duck Stamp Companion Species Artwork and Merch
I was commissioned by the Federal duck stamp office to do the artwork of the companion species (Northern Flicker) which is depicted on the back of the collecter sheetlet edition of the Federal Duck Stamp as well as on one of the first day of sale collector envelopes. Biography
Adam Nisbett’s artistic passions have always followed a theme inspired by the leading verse of Psalm 19:
“The heavens declare the glory of God!”
Adam has had a fascination with birds since childhood, and so his artwork often features birds, but he also enjoys capturing landscapes and expressive light and shadow in his work.
Adam currently works primarily in oil painting in studio, but has enjoyed exploring learning in broader mediums and formats such as murals and plein air.
